Evidence-Based Counseling

Therapy for children, teens and adults struggling with anxiety, stress, depression, grief, difficult emotions, and life’s challenges.

I’m Sandra Wilson, M.Ed., LPC, CAIP, NCC, a licensed professional counselor and Certified Anxiety Treatment Professional. I help children and adults understand what they’re experiencing, build practical skills, and develop the confidence to face what feels difficult.

Therapy That Helps You Move Forward

Therapy isn’t about getting rid of every uncomfortable thought or feeling. It’s about learning that you can experience discomfort without allowing it to control what you do.

My approach is practical, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based treatment. Depending on your needs, therapy may incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure-based strategies, play therapy, and other approaches designed to help you understand your patterns and make meaningful changes.

A Safe Place to Be Yourself

My practice is trauma-informed and welcoming to people from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. Therapy should be a place where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable being yourself.

I believe that finding the right therapist matters. You should feel comfortable asking questions, being honest about what you're experiencing, and working together toward goals that are meaningful to you.

Why Psy of Relief?

With experience working with children, adults, teens and veterans, I understand that there isn't one approach that works for everyone.

My goal is to meet you where you are while helping you move toward where you want to be.

You don't need to wait until things become unbearable to ask for help. Sometimes the most important step is simply deciding that you're ready for something to change.

Ready to take that first step?

Schedule a free 15-minute consultation to talk about what you're looking for and whether I might be the right therapist for you.

Who We Treat

A woman and girl are sitting at a table engaged in a worry management activity, with educational materials, charts, and plush toys about handling worry and bravery around them.

For Children

Children often communicate through play rather than having the words to explain what they’re feeling.

Through cognitive behavioral play therapy strategies, I help children understand worry and big feelings, develop coping skills, build confidence, and practice responding differently to the things that scare, bother or worry them.

I also work with parents because helping a child become more confident often means helping parents know when to support, when to encourage, and when to step back.

For Teens

The teenage years can be complicated. School pressure, friendships, family relationships, and growing independence can feel overwhelming—especially when anxiety, ADHD, low mood, or strong emotions are added to the mix.

My approach to teen therapy is practical and collaborative. I help teens recognize patterns that may be keeping them stuck and build skills for managing anxiety, overthinking, avoidance, school stress, emotional regulation, and confidence.

Therapy isn’t about telling teens what to think or trying to change who they are. It’s about helping them trust themselves, tolerate uncomfortable feelings and uncertainty, and handle difficult situations without letting anxiety or emotions take charge.

For Adults

Sometimes you know exactly what is bothering you. Other times, you just know that you don’t feel like yourself.

Whether you're struggling with anxiety, stress, depression, grief, overwhelm, or the effects of difficult experiences, therapy can help you understand what’s happening and determine what you want to do differently.

My goal isn't simply to help you feel better in the therapy room. It's to help you develop the skills and confidence to handle life outside of it.
